The Online Mothership Has Landed. Welcome Aboard.

It’s been a long time coming mi amigos. The D.A. Show has had many variations, four different cities, an eight-year run of white hot sports takes and obtuse pop culture references. (It was George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic who originally uttered, “The Mothership has connected, welcome aboard.”)
I first launched thedashow.com when I was handed my own daily show in April ’03 at Sportsradio 770 in Ft. Myers, FL. It was the day after Syracuse basketball’s first and only National Championship. I desperately wanted to skip work and head down to New Orleans to watch history. Instead I opted on discussing Dave Wannstadt’s draft prospects for two hours in market #75. Sigh. The choices we make.
Alas, all audio evidence of The Damon Amendolara Show, 4p-6p on 770, has been destroyed. And for the best. I once had the mayor of Ft. Myers Beach on to discuss his fireworks code on Fourth of July. I interviewed the curator of the local museum because King Tut’s remains were coming through. It’s a miracle I lasted six months. And a bigger miracle I got a better job out of it.
From nights at Kansas City’s 61 Sports… 610 Sports… 610 Sportsradio… to mornings at 610, nights at Miami’s WQAM to evenings here at Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub, it’s been one long, strange incredibly awesome trip.
I wanted to be able to connect the thread from the Midwest to South Beach to New England, and give our loyal listeners a daily connection to the show. So it’ll be continually updated with fresh content, but also the very best of the last eight years. Consider it your personal D.A. Show Hall of Fame, refreshed daily. The best callers, the best guests, the best bits, the best rants. It’s all here. Bookmark it.
- Audio: The daily podcast and instant classic moments, organized by city.
- Video: Our YouTube videos and TV appearances.
- Buzz: The show in print; newspaper, blogs, Q&A’s.
- Women of the D.A. Show: The greatest thing ever, labeled by region.

We’ll post the podcast daily, upload all the videos we shoot, and most importantly keep putting up pictures of all the Women of the D.A. Show (truly my greatest idea ever). You can still surf our podcasts at iTunes or our old podcast page as well.
Thanks to web genius Jonathan Desrosiers who was the brains and creative talent behind the relaunch. Thanks to the listeners for inhabiting the 300-Level and the Mothership.
And. Away. We. Go.
