The D.A. Show Helps Launch Brand New 98.5 The Sports Hub

After two years sleeping afternoons away at the beach and moving down 34 rows at Marlins games, D.A. takes you though the evenings from 6p-11p every night on New England’s new home for sports.

We are thrilled to launch 98.5 The Sports Hub Thursday, August 13th, with a complete airing of the three Patriots championships, followed by Boston veterans Mike Felger and Tony Masserotti (good to have a fellow Paisan on board) and the Pats first pre-season game.

The Sports Hub is the home of the Pariots and Bruins and D.A. will be taking you through each and every night on one of the best signals in the Northeast.

We’ll bring you insight on the night’s action, energetic opinions on all the Hub’s home teams, a hard-hitting lineup of guests and a sense of humor while doing it.

D.A. has spent plenty of time in Beantown, especially at Fenway. Both his brother and cousin attended school here in Boston (Emerson and Boston U., respectfully), lending itself to more than a few (ahem) inebriated weekends at the homes of the Sox, Pats, C’s, Bruins, Terriers and Eagles.

In fact, in July ’99, D.A. witnessed the Steroid Era in all its glory, standing on Landsdowne Street watching Big Mac’s bombs sail over his head and onto the Mass Pike. What juice!?!?

The listeners will be a vital part of the show. Via phone lines, email, Twitter, Facebook or text, we’ll use one of the most passionate fan bases in the country as the biggest contributor to the show. The 98.5 Sports Hub army will drive the bus.

We smell better than the old Garden’s visiting locker rooms, we dress better than Dick McPherson and sound better than a Duck Boat’s muffler. But just barely.

Boston knows its sports. Now we get to hear it every night. The Mothership has connected, welcome aboard.

    DA,
Fascinating micro view talking about the hedge fund gurys and Larry trashing the trainer.
. The trainer is not at fault. I’vwplayed basedball and football at collegiate level, and was shotputter and discus man as well. The trainer is one step below God. The trainer who has a jock with and attitude problem can usually deal with him or her based upon experience. If the trainer can’t deal with him he has a very ignorant or arrogant jock on his hands who knows that he is “immune” from taking grief from the coaching staff. When I was in sports any disrespect to the training staff meant a suspension or dismissal from the team. No ifs, ands or buts. By analogy, as a lieutant in Nam, would you listen to your own head, the General 200 miles away, or your seargent? These athletes are dinks, and their team ownership are totally political and couldn’t give a crap about the fans except as revenue producers. It’s not like Tom Yawkey – God forgive his faults – these folks are money first and that’s it.
Call me a blue collar kid from Eastie who loved and listened to Sox games on his transitor radio hiding from his mom at night in the ’50s after bedtime, and worked his butt off to make a good Ivy League life for five kids and is digusted with these superficial diletante owners. Joe O’Donnell and Steve Karp are real lovers of the sport and got screwed out of the deal by MLB from the outset.

    Love your show. Best regards.
